This time, we’re putting Sena Koch in the spotlight. As an important part of our fire and water damage restoration department, she helps out customers who have experienced disasters at home every day — and she’s been doing this for over thirteen years.

Tell us about your position at INTEK.
I’ve been here more than thirteen years. I am the lead on jobs in my department. We do fire and water restoration as well as general cleans and construction cleans.
I am in charge of about ten to thirteen people in our department.
What does a typical fire or water damage job look like?
When we get a job, one of our supervisors will put together a team from our department. I will take our team out to the job site, and we will gather the damaged contents, bring them back to our shop at INTEK, clean them, and return them to the customer.
For the contents restoration, we have a sonic machine from Fireline Systems that can clean and disinfect hard contents and an Esporta Wash System that will do the same for soft contents. We also have a dryer that dries the items quickly and safely.
What’s your favorite part about working at INTEK?
The people you meet. In my department, we’re constantly meeting new customers, and they’re always really grateful for our services.
INTEK is a good place to work, it really is — like I said, I’ve been here for thirteen years! I’ve even recommended it to a couple of my friends. It’s not easy work, but if you’re outgoing and healthy, it might be a good fit.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about applying at INTEK?
Definitely apply! It’s a very fast-paced job — you’re doing something different every day. I really enjoy the variety.
The bosses are not hard to work for, either. They work with you if you need time off or have children problems or health issues. Last year I got my kidney taken out, so I had to take off seven weeks. This year I had an artery replaced, so I had to take off nine weeks. Both times, my job was waiting for me when I got back.
