At INTEK Cleaning & Restoration, we’re doing our best to create a working environment where every employee feels valued and respected in their position and enjoys the work that they do each day.
We want every member of our team to know they are appreciated. So, we held an event to do just that.
Good Food, Better People
For the past five years, we’ve been hosting a company picnic for our employees. It’s a time where our team can sit back and relax with their families and friends — and win some prizes!
Due to the odd circumstances last year, we weren’t able to host this social event (or even a Christmas party) so we wanted to make this year extra special.
Over the past year, we’ve remained busy with folks needing carpet cleaning or other services in their homes. Our team remained steadfast and hardworking, and that deserved recognition.
Everyone got an afternoon off in July and a full meal catered from Hy-Vee right here in our warehouse.
There were door prizes and larger prizes each person was eligible to win. We upped the ante this year with prizes such as a camping set, a night out with hotel and dinner, and a Thunder Road gift card. There was something for everyone!

Each employee also had an opportunity to order their own polo shirt to be embroidered or a quarter zip long sleeve as the weather gets cooler. We’re proud that our employees want to show their pride to work at INTEK within our South Dakota community.
According to Sunny Holtz, there’s a few things INTEK employees value.
“There’s always variety,” Holtz said. “Every day is different and our team moves around departments all the time depending on the needs of our customers. It’s also very worthwhile work — it’s something you can see. When you’re carpet cleaning, you get to see the before and after right away and see the difference you make.”
Holtz went on to commend the INTEK management team for their flexibility and understanding of everyone’s work/life balance. The past year was full of challenges and the team came together to make it happen.
