ceiling fan in living room

We hope you have a start on your spring cleaning but have you checked your ceiling fans for dust and shower head for build-up? See our list of easy to forget places in your home that need a quick scrub.

Sparkling Kitchen

  1. Scrub the oven by carefully follow the direction on a can of oven cleaner.
  2. Wipe out the freezer and fridge. Don’t forget the drawers and ice trays, too!
  3. Use hot soapy water to clean out the microwave and send the plate through the dishwasher. Be sure to wipe off the door and front buttons.
  4. Clean out the dishwasher. (Need a sanitizer? Check here)
  5. To cut through grease and build-up, wipe off cupboard doors (both inside and out).

Just Like New Living Room

  1. Flip your chair and couch cushions. Run a vacuum over both surfaces to clean out the creases.
  2. Vacuum off dusty drapes or send them through the washing machine (just be sure to check if the material is wash machine safe).

The Whole House

  1. Send out the pillows to be cleaned, but before you drop off your pillow, think about how long you have had them. Do they need to be cleaned or should you just replace them?
  2. Take advantage of a sunny day and remove screens and hose them off. Screens with holes can be replaced at a hardware store or you can do it at home.
  3. Check room vents (especially the bathroom) and vacuum off dust.
  4. Wipe down all sides of ceiling fans so they are ready to go without spinning dust into your room!
  5. The germiest places are often the most unthought-of: sanitize your phone, credit cards, and trash can.
